Today Oak Academy welcomed back Year 11 students top collect their GCSE results
We are delighted to report improved outcomes across nearly all subjects will enable students to progress onto destinations of choice, with 97% of the cohort progressing onto further study or an apprenticeship.
It was a wonderful day filled with much happiness and pride as students collected their results and saw for the first time that the hard work had been worth it.
Students should be proud of themselves today. Below are some of our success stories.
Sabina I – Sabina is our top performing student this year with 3 Grade 9s in Maths and Science, Grade 8s in Computer Science, French and Geography, Grade 7s in English Language and English Literature and a Distinction in Hospitality and Catering. Sabina is progressing to Bournemouth School to complete A Levels in Maths and Science.
Ellen O – Ellen achieved 6 Grade 8s in Maths, Science, History, Film Studies and Sociology, Grade 7s in English Language and English Literature and a Distinction in Hospitality and Catering. Ellen is progressing to Ferndown Upper School to complete A Levels in Maths and Further Maths.
Jack L – Jack achieved 3 Grade 8s in English Language, Science and Computer Science, 4 Grade 7s in English Literature, Maths, Science and Geography, a Grade 6 in Art and a Merit in Hospitality and Catering. Jack is progressing onto A Level study at Ferndown Upper School.
Rob S – Rob achieved a Grade 9 in Design Technology, 2 Grade 8s in Science and Computer Science, 2 Grade 7s in Maths and Science, a Grade 6 in English Literature, a Grade 5 in English Language and a Distinction in IT. Rob is progressing to Brockenhurst College to complete A Levels in Computer Science, Maths and Physics.
Holly W – Holly achieved 5 Grade 7s in English Language and English Literature, the Sciences and Design Technology, 2 Grade 6s in Maths and French, a Distinction* in Health and Social Care (the quality of her work produced during periods of lockdown was exemplary) and a Distinction in IT. Holly is progressing to Kingston Maurward College to complete a Level 3 course in Animal Care.
Amir M– Amir achieved 2 Grade 8s in Maths and Computer Science, 2 Grade 7s in Science, 2 Grade 6s in English Literature and Film Studies, 2 Grade 5s in English Language and Design Technology and a Merit in Hospitality and Catering. Amir is progressing onto A Level study at Brockenhurst College.
