After months of worrying that a Prom would not go ahead and a change of date due to government restrictions – Oak Academy’s Prom happened on Wednesday 21st June 2021 at the Three Tuns, Bransgore.
The students arrived prompt in a variety of vehicles with music by Carley Varley and drinks and canapés on the lawn. The venue was perfect, 17th century barn with marquee and extensive grounds so both students and staff had space to enjoy the evening. With over 70 students in attendance the evening was a great success – students enjoyed a variety of entertainment from a surf simulator and bouncy castle to Magic Mirror Photo booth and disco. The amazing Lily McKinnon and her Mum made the Prom cake which completed the vast array of food from dough nut walls to sweets stands and the giant hog roast.
It was a evening of laughter and fun as students ad staff chatted and reflected on the year and looked ahead to the future. The dancing under fairy lights in the barn was beautiful to see with a year group united in their celebrations.
Awards were given and Kelly Paixao and Josh Haskell crowned Prom Royalty.
The evening ended with a luxury coach back to Oak Academy and as the students drove away the singing, giggling and reflections on a great night could be heard (poor Mrs Richley and Mr Burgas had to supervise the party bus).
Class of 2021 you certainly celebrated in style and with honor – Be proud and good luck for the future as I’m sure it will be bright for you all x
