Student outcomes at Oak Academy continue to improve!

GCSE results at Oak Academy have risen for a second year running, with improved outcomes for students in many areas, and across all core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science.

Overall, almost 50% of students achieved a 9-4 standard pass in English and Mathematics, an increase of 9% on results last year, and 13% since new leadership took over in summer 2016.

Nearly two thirds of all students achieved a standard pass in Mathematics with more than half the cohort achieving the same standard in English and Science.

With over half of all students now achieving at least the standard pass in these core subjects, opportunities and outcomes have significantly improved, a view supported by HMI visits over the last 18 months.

Subject success stories include:
• Geography: 34% increase in students achieving a 9-4 standard pass.
• Art: 32% increase in students achieving a 9-4 standard pass.
• History: 30% increase in students achieving a 9-4 standard pass.
• French: 30% increase in students achieving a 9-4 standard pass.

It’s a similar story for vocational subjects with:
• Construction: 54% increase in students achieving a 9-4 standard pass.
• Engineering: 45% increase in students achieving a 9-4 standard pass.

Top Performing students include:
• Jessica Hannam who achieved 100% grade 9-6 in all subjects including:
Grade 8s in English Language & Art, grade 7s in History, English Literature, grade 7-6 in Science, grade 6 in Maths & a B in Psychology.

• Georgina Pocock who achieved 100% grade 9-5 in all subjects including:
Grade 8-7 in Science, grade 8 in Geography, 7 in Maths & PE, 6 in English Literature and English Language, 5 in French and a B in Psychology.

• Joseph Macken who achieved 100% grade 9-5 in all subjects including:
Grade 8 in Maths, 8-7 in Science, 7 in Art, 6s in Geography, English Literature and English Language and 5 in French.
