27th June 2018

GYAP Exchange

Today we sadly said farewell to our Chinese visitors as they start their journey up to London for 3 days and then back home.

On Tuesday 27th June, we had an action packed day starting with a competitive ICT lesson followed by Learning for Life.

Students then partook in an Art session, building cardboard cities of the future and a Music lesson using western instruments to interpret a Chinese classic. The day ended with football and basketball, followed by making what seemed to be ‘millions’ of scones. (They were exceptionally yummy!)

The final day saw our visiting Chinese students experiencing the core subjects of Maths, English and Science: amazing interactions, experiments and much fun was to be had. Our visitors loved the group work, using technology for quizzes and having great conversations in English. Today ended with students taking part in our unique enrichment sessions choosing, basketball, football and golf.

We would like to thank our GYAP student ambassadors who were simply fantastic in helping our visitors during their stay with us and our wonderful staff for planning and delivering the sessions with passion and enthusiasm.

We have had an amazing 3 days and have definitely made many friends who have invited us to visit anytime! Hopefully this is an invite we will be able take up in the future.

The next step…ensuring that our 3 staff and student groups are all ready to go for their trips out to China in the next couple of weeks.

Watch this space for updates of their adventures!
